- Academic Allure: Art and Instruction in 19th- Century Paris
From March 13 to April 19, 2009, Lebanon Valley College featured Academic Allure: Art and Instruction in 19th- Century Paris. Dr. Barbara Anderman, a specialist in French art and the history of the Academy in Paris, and Associate Professor of Art History at Lebanon Valley organized the show with works from the Museum's Collection.

Our painting Diana, the Huntress by Luc-Olivier Merson (1846-1920) was featured in
The Strange Mister Merson, the first retrospective of the academic artist's
oeuvre since his death.
- National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
A Pompeian Interior by Luigi Bazzani was included in the exhibition,
Pompeii and the Roman Villa: Art and Culture around the Bay of Naples,
which explored the impact that the 18th-century excavations and rediscovery of Pompeii and Herculaneum had on the art and culture of the modern world.

The Museum's J.W. Waterhouse oil sketch, Study for Dante and Beatrice,
hangs alongside his other masterworks in J.W. Waterhouse (1849-1917): The Modern Pre-Raphaelite.
On view now until September 13. It opens again in Montreal, Canada in late September 2009.
